Above all a Cavalier should be active, graceful, always happy and fearless, but at the same time gentle and affectionate.
He should have large, round, dark eyes, set wide enough apart to give a sweet, melting expression, a short muzzle with a black nose and slight cushioning under the eyes. Ears are set high with long leathers and silky feathering which fan slightly forward to frame an adorable face.
He needs good bone and substance with a height of 12-13 inches and weight no more than 13-18 pounds.
Cavaliers come in four colors: Blenheim, a rich tan-red and pearly white. Tricolor, black, rich tan and pearly white. Ruby and Black & Tan.
